How to prepare a Badam Cake

The South Indian Badam cake is a  very soft and much less in calories and very easy to make , unlike doing it on a kadai and stirring for almost half hour in Badam cake recipe .

Preparation time : 10 minutes .
Cooking time : 20 minutes .
Recipe Type : Veg .

  • Badam - 1 cup ( Almonds )  
  • Sugar - 2 cup 
  • Ghee - 1/2 cup (clarified Batter )  
  • Milk - 1 tsp 
  • Kesar - 1 tsp (Saffron)
The preparation of a Badam Cake .

South Indian Badam Cake
  1. Rinse the Almonds in hot Water for 3-4 hours . 
  2. Peel and grind the Almonds along with milk into a fine paste . 
  3. Dissolve the Saffron in a tsp of milk . 
  4. Place a pan of medium flame . 
  5. Add the Almond paste , sugar and 2 tsp ghee to the pan . Stir well . 
  6. Reduce the flace  to low and cook for 10 minutes . 
  7. Keep stirring and pouring the ghee at regular intervals .
  8. Mix in the Dissolved the saffron . 
  9. Remove form the heat when it achieves a thick consistency . 
  10. Pour the mixture into a greased plate and allow cooling . 
  11. Cut into pieces and serve it .

How to prepare a aloo parrota

The aloo parrota is very smooth and very sweet and ease parrota and  North Indian parrota is prepare to simple Parrota and my fa variate Parrota .

Cooking time 20 minutes .
Serving in member 4 member .

The ingredients of preparing  aloo Parrota :
  • Wheat flour - 2 cup
  • Potato - 2 potato , boiled and peeled .    
  •  Onion - 1 chopped 
  • Green chilli - 2-3 finely chopped 
  • Cumin powder - 2 tsp 
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp 
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp 
  • Coriander leaves - few leaves .finely chopped . 
  •  Water as required. (For dough)
  •  Ghee - 1 tsp 
  • Salt to taste . 
The preparing of aloo parrota :

North Indian A loo Parrota
  1.  Take a large bowl and sieve wheat flour with ghee and little bit salt . Pour required water to knead stiff and soft dough . Keep it covered and set a side . 
  2. Mash boiled potato in another bowl with onion ,green chilli , cumin seeds , red chilli powder , gram masala , coriander leaves and salt . 
  3. Now take small portion of dough and roll out as a thick medium sheet . Make a shallow well in the centre of each sheet with help of figure tips and fill one tablespoon of potato stuff on it then seal the edges of sheet with figure tips . 
  4. sprinkle little bit dry wheat flour and flatten these sheets with chapati roller . 
  5. Heat skillet over a medium flame and cook parrota for 2-3 minutes . turn it and pour half tablespoon of oil and spread carefully 
  6. Cook caver a low heat till the golden . Drain on an absorbent paper . serve hot .

How to prepare a vegetable cutlet

Vegetable cutlet is a perfect tea time snack and wonderful appetizer which is popular among kids and adults . It is prepared from boiled Vegetables and spices which is than fried in a oil . It can be served with hot and sweet chutney or green chutney or ketchup .

Preparation time : 2 minutes
Cooking time : 3 minutes .

The Ingredients of preparing Vegetable cutlet .
  • Potato - 1 cup finely chopped 
  • Beans - 1/2 cup finely chopped 
  • Carrot - 1/2 cup  finely chopped 
  • Cabbage - 1/2 cup  finely chopped 
  • Onion - 1/2 cup finely chopped . 
  • Oil - 2 tsp 
  • Salt to taste . 
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp 
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp 
  • Besan or Gram flour - 1 cup 
  • Water - 1/4 cup 
  • Bread powder - 1 cup 
  • oil - for deep frying . 

The preparation of a Vegetable Cutlet .
South Indian Vegetable Cutlet
  1. Heat the oil in a deep non stick , Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute . 
  2. Add the potatoes , French beans , carrots , and cabbage and mix well . 
  3. Cover and cook on a slow flame for 10 -12 minutes or till the vegetables are cooked , while stirring occasionally . Sprinkle a little water (approx . 2 tsp ) to avoid the vegetables from burning . 
  4. Add the salt , chilli powder , Turmeric powder and plain flour , mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes . 
  5. Mash the mixture using a potato masher . 
  6. Remove form the flame , transfer the mixture to a plate and allow it to cool completely . 
  7. Divide the mixture into 7 equal portions and shape each portions into a 50 mm . (2'') flat oval . 
  8. Dip the each cutlet in the prepared plain flour mixture and roll in the bread powder till they are evenly coated from all the sides . 
  9. Heat the oil in a kadai and deep fry each cutlet till it turns golden brown in colour . From both the sides . Drain on absorbent paper 
Vegetable cutlet is ready to served in tomato ketchup .

How to prepare a Avalakki payasam

Avalakki Payasa  is a traditional sweet dish made with beaten  rice/ poha  jaggery and coconut . This sweet dish is very popular in south India and it is also delicious  and healthy . Jaggery as lot of iron constant and beaten rice is easily digestible and fat free . Avalakki Payasa is prepared on janmashtami day , an auspicious occasion and served as offering/ parsed to lord Krishna . it is also prepared on all special and festive occasion .

Preparation time - 1 minutes .
Cooking time -  2 minutes .
Serving to member - 4 member .

The ingredients of prepare Avalakki Payasa .

  • Avalakki - 2 cup 
  • Jaggery - 3 cup 
  • Ghee - 1 cup 
  • Cardamom - 1 tsp 
  • Grated Coconut - 2 cup
  • Almond - 2 to 3  
  •  Cashew nut - 2 to 3
  • Raisins - 2 to 3 
South Indian Avalakki Payasa .

The preparing of Avalakki Payasa .

  1. Cut to a almond and cashew nut in to pieces keep a side . 
  2. Grate the coconut and grind it along with 3 cardamom adding half cup of water . Once it is ground  finely , pour it on to a strainer and squeeze it . This is first extract coconut milk . We need one cup of this milk . 
  3. Transfer the squeezed coconut again to mixer  and grind finely adding 1 cup of water . Pour on the strainer and squeeze it . This is second extract milk and me need one cup of this milk as well . 
  4. Wash the thick flakes with enough water and squeeze it with your hands keep it a side . 
  5. Heat a heavy bottomed vessel adding jaggery and one cup of water . Once the jaggery dissolves and starts boiling  add squeezed thick flakes from above step . Let it cook for just 2 minutes in simmer . Keep stirring at regular intervals . 
  6. Now add second extract coconut milk and bring it to boil . Then add the first extract coconut  milk  and as it boils switch off the flame . 
  7. Mean while heat a seasoning pan , add 2 tea spoon of ghee and fry cashew and almond get slightly brown colour and raisins puff up when fried . 
  8. Add fry dry fruits to the Avalakki Payasam   and mix well . 
  9. Mouth watering Avalakki Payasa is ready to serve ....

How to prepare a khara pongal

The south Indian khara Pongal  is very spicy and easy recipe in Sankranthi festival . Pongal is usually made with ghee , you can use ghee instead of oil . Ghee does gives a batter taste .

Preparation time - 2 minutes
Cooking time - 2 minutes .
Serving to member - 4 Member .

The ingredients of preparing Khara Pongal .   


  • Rice - 2 cup 
  • Hesaru Bele or moong dal - 1 1/2 cup 
  • Curry leaves - 6-7 
  • Black paper - 1 tsp . 
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Matured seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Cashew nuts - 6-7 
  • Pinch of hing . 
  • Oil - 4 tsp 
  • Green chillies - 3 
  • Turmeric powder - 3 
    South Indian Khara Pongal .

The preparation of a khara pongal . 



  1. In the pressure cooker add, oil . When it becomes hot , add the mustard seeds , jeera , curry leaves , green chillies , cashew nuts ,  Black paper and fry for a few minutes . Next add the moong dal and fry . Next , add the rice and fry until the rice changes colour . 
  2. Finally add 5 cups of water , and also salt to taste . Close the pressure cooker  and allow for 3 whistles . Pongal is done serving to gojju . 

How to Prepare Bared Gulab Jamnu

The south Indian gulab jamnu is a very sweet and easy recipe which can be made by all and it is suitable for all festivals , we can make it with ready made mix khoya milk powder  . etc Here I have  made it with bread pieces .

Preparation time -5 Min .
 Cooking time - 20 Min
Makes 2-3
Serving to member - 4

The ingredients of preparing Bread Gulab Jamnu . 

South Indian Gulab Jamun.

  • Bread - 6 pieces . 
  • Milk - 1 cup 
  • Sugar - 2 cup 
  • Water - 4 cup 
  • Cardamom - 1 tsp

The preparation of Bread gulab Jamun .  


      To make sugar syrup :


  1. Boil sugar and water on low flame till one string consistency .
  2. Add cardamom powder . 

    To Make Jamnu . 



  1. Cut the brown crust of the Bread . 
  2. Dip both sides of the bread in milk . 
  3. Squeeze out the excess milk . 
  4. Knead it to a soft dough . 
  5. Make smooth bolls from the bread dough with out applying much pressure . 
  6. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the gulab jamuns in a low flame until they turn brown . 
  7. Drop the fried gulab jamuns into the Warm sugar syrup .
  8. Let the gulab jamuns remain soaked in the sugar syrup for 1-2 hours . 
  9. Serve warm .
