How to prepare a Parrota

The South  Indian parrota  is very smooth and sweet in parrota it is a common layered flat Indian bread usually available in restaurants and Thattukada / Road side shops across Kerala and other states of south India .

Ingredients :

  • Maida
  • Salt to taste 
  • Oil - 1 tsp 
  • Water
North Indian Parrota



Preparation : 

  1. Make a maida in big bowl . 
  2. Add 1 tsp of oil and Salt 
  3. Mix water slowly till you get soft dough 
  4. Pour 50 ml oil in the dough and mix well . 
  5. Make equal lemon sized bell and keep it for 1 hour . 
  6. Place the maida ball on the polythene sheet / Kitchen marble floor and put 1 tsp of oil over the bell . 
  7. Using your two palms spread equally . 
  8. Then make a spiral 
  9. Now press over the spiral  and make parrota .
